The Théâtre du Châtelet was built between 1860 and 1862 on Place du Châtelet in Paris, at the same time as the Théâtre de la Ville, which is located on the same square opposite. It has 2,500 seats and is one of the most famous theaters in the city.
Our subsidiary Waagner Biro Stage Luxembourg, together with our French partner company BC Caire, was commissioned to carry out the refurbishment of the stage technology. Waagner-Biro Stage Luxembourg supplied the stage control system, making the Théâtre du Châtelet the second theater in Paris with a C⋅A⋅T V5 control system.
After 2 ½ years of refurbishment, the theater reopened in September 2019.
