The Ronacher Theatre, which opened in 1872, is located in Vienna's first district and has celebrated major successes with big musicals and even bigger performers since its reopening in 2008 following a comprehensive functional refurbishment.

In a city where opera and theatre culture is as important as it is in Vienna, the demands placed on theatres are particularly high. State-of-the-art stage design is a must in order to inspire the audience. For this reason, the Ronacher underwent a comprehensive refurbishment in 2008.

The lower stage machinery, for example, was equipped with a rope stage podium, a special panelled floor that can be designed so flexibly that a turntable can be installed. A special tilting lifting ramp and a crane for transporting props were installed in the backstage area.

In the auditorium there are two orchestra podiums and a tiltable auditorium floor. The floor can be automatically changed from a tilted to a horizontal configuration.

The upper stage machinery consists of 28 noise- and space-optimised, upright winches and manual counter hoists. In addition there are point hoists in the "Fly" upper stage machinery, which are operated via a rail system on the lacing floor. Front stage hoists with horizontal winches and chain hoists are mounted above the auditorium.
