The theatre is located in a renovated factory on the outskirts of the city and was built by the Hangzhou Xintiandi Group, a private developer of tourism and cultural projects throughout China.

Cirque du Soleil's first show in China in collaboration with the Hangzhou Xintiandi Group is called X: 绮幻之境 (The Land of Fantasy).

The show theater was built for almost 1,500 spectators. They are seated on two stage wagons with an integrated revolving stage, which places the audience at the center of the story and constantly offers the audience new perspectives. This unique 360-degree perspective opens up a new world of creative ways to tell the story and provides a truly immersive experience for the audience watching the action from their seats.
