Type of venue
The Grieghallen in Bergen, built in the mid-1970s, are among the most active concert halls in Scandinavia and are an outstanding landmark of the city with their piano-inspired architecture.
A comprehensive refurbishment was carried out during the summer break in 2014. This included the refurbishment of the entire upper machinery and the stage control system with over 50 drives as well as the laced floor of the portal area and the forestage. In addition, 4 new stage platforms were installed in the Peer Gynt Saal and integrated into the C⋅A⋅T control system.
The system was delivered and handed over on time. It is more user-friendly, more flexible, designed for higher loads and easier to maintain. The C⋅A⋅T control system not only enables complicated shows to be programmed in a short space of time, it also offers many remote maintenance and inspection options. Possible faults can be detected online at an early stage and rectified within a very short time.
The opening of the anniversary season took place on October 16, 2014 in the renovated concert hall in the presence of the Norwegian Minister of Culture. In total, more than 50 new hoists were installed within just 3 months, together with 4 new stage platforms and the implementation of the C⋅A⋅T control system for the stage technology.
